Knit with Snefnug and Teddy Dear, Mellow Vest from Irene Lin Designs is the ultimate cosy layer. The technique for the border makes a stunning feature of the uniquely fluffy Teddy Dear yarn.

Mellow Vest is constructed top down, starting with the upper back. Fronts are picked up from the back cast on edge, knit separately at first then joined to knit in one piece from the armholes.

• Circular needles 8 mm / US 11 (60 - 120 cm) for the main body fabric.

• Circular needles 7 mm / US 8 (60 - 120 cm ) for the fluffy border.

Recommended ease: 10 cm+

Shown in Size 1 on a model who is 163 cm tall, with 17 cm positive ease.

Gauge:

12 sts x 16 rows of stocking stitch = 4” / 10 cm on 8mm (US 11) needle, after blocking.

Ingredients:

Snefnug: 55% Alpaca, 35% Cotton, 10% Merino - 110m (120 yds) per 50g, by CaMaRose.

Teddy Dear: 50% Merino, 40% Alpaca, 10% Nylon - 75m (82 yds) per 50g, by Gepard.
